Body Piercing Technician
LOCATION:
Captain Jack's Tattoo and Body Piercing School LLC is located at 4601 SE Hawthorne Blvd in the Southeast section of Portland, OR. A wide variety of retail shops, stores, restaurants, motels, apartments and other attractions are within walking distance.
PROGRAM INFORMATION (Education or Vocational Objective):
Through 120 hours of theory and 80 practical hours combined with 24 above the waist piercings Each Technician will complete a minimum of 200 hours of training. This training will allow the Technician to graduate with the necessary credentials to become a state-licensed Body Piercing Technician. Training will be divided into two main disciplines, "Theory" and "Practical". Theory training will consist of 120 hours of combined bookwork, video, classroom and one-on-one staff training. Practical training will consist of 80 hours of hands-on experience combined with learning 24 above the waist piercing with staff guidance and overview. Completion of these disciplines will provide the student with an in-depth understanding of the body piercing industry and Oregon State laws, rules and regulations. Other subjects to be covered include: history, equipment, supplies, safety, sanitation, sterilization, business operations and Oregon laws pertaining to the body piercing industry. Course completion will be based on Captain Jack's Tattoo and Body Piercing School LLC catalog requirements and each student's individual needs. Instructor/student ration is 1 to 4.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEEDURES:
Prior to enrollment, student(s) will read and understand school personnel policies, course catalog and brochure information. All applicants will be at least 18 years of age. A scheduled interview with a school representative is required. The following guideline details the steps required.
IMPORTANT - All applicants will be required to have a High School Diploma or GED. This must be in your file the first day of school.
Step 1 - CPR/First Aid Blood Bourne Pathogens or Preventing Disease Transmission card, available from the American Red Cross and other safety training facilities.
Step 2-Taking Aftercare Training at Captain Jack's Tattoo and Body Piercing School LLC.
Step 3 - State Piercing License
SCHOOL CALENDAR AND SCHEDULE:
Captain Jack's Tattoo and Body Piercing School LLC is regularly open Monday- Saturday 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Sunday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Instruction is based on individual needs and can be flexible outside of normal operating hours with staff approval. Captain Jack's Tattoo and Body Piercing School LLC observes all major holidays.
REQUIRED CREDIT HOURS NEEDED FOR COMPLETION:
Graduation is based on completing 120 theory hours, 80 practical hours and 24 above the waist piercing as defined by the Captain Jack's Tattoo and Body Piercing School LLC catalog. In general, the following schedule applies for these hours.

If the student has not finished either the Theory or Practical hours in the time agreed upon by both parties. The student may be charged for addition shop time and instruction fees.

Tuition:
A $1,000.00 deposit is required upon signing the enrollment agreement to secure your placement in the school. The remaining balance of $3,150.00 is due no later than the first day of class unless other arrangements are made with the school Director.
